Medicine, Dentistry and Health
- Seeking views on health technologies and exploring how these technologies fit in with everyday life
- Exploring the experience of living with long term health conditions
My research interests focuses on the experience of living with long term health conditions, ageing, and health technologies. I have thirteen years’ experience working in health research – formerly as a Senior Public Health Analyst within the NHS, and more recently as a researcher at the university. In 2014 I completed my PhD entitled A Mixed Methods Exploration of the Relationship between Activities within the Home and Health: Implications for Lifestyle Monitoring (http://etheses.whiterose.ac.uk/7004/). My PhD was funded by Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
I have worked on a number of CATCH projects including the award winning MHealth Assist, HAT-VI, CABOT2, and IN-LIFE. I am currently a Research Associate on the A Shared Space and a Space for Sharing project exploring empathy in online discussion forums for Motor Neuron Disease and Breast Cancer.
